1. Server Renewal / Optimization
Dev team has announced that they are doing everything they can to fix the lag with in Ragnarok Online, and as such, they plan to do whole renewal of how game server works.
They described how it works by saying, the game lag is because of the server programs and how it interacts with the client. This will be fixed, they say, by reprogramming parts of the client and server applications.
2. System Renewal
Character Balancing.
They said they will try to balance the ‘minor’ jobs and ‘major’ jobs. Unfortunately, we were unable to hear anything about exactly what they plan to change. We can assume that Gravity does see this as a problem and wishes to fix them.
Quest Renewal.
Variety of ways which to progress with the quest. Also, moving NPCs, quest window system, book reading system will come together, focusing on scenario-oriented progression of quests.
They showed a development version of RO screenshot of quest progression window, which showed how many monsters should be killed, brief storyline of the quest, and progression of the quest itself. With moving NPCs, the progression of quests will significantly differ from how it is currently.
Limitation Breakdown
Defense calculation change - Not a nerf. Right now, if your DEF is 100, incoming damage will be 0. This will be changed. One of the changes is that, if your VIT is 110, your resistance vs. status ailments will not be same as VIT 100.
They stressed that this is not a nerf, but did not signify which.
Breaking LV 99 limit - 3rd classes (in year 2008, hopefully)
What will be required to change to the 3rd class is not yet decided, but players will not have to go back to Novice after job changing this time. The concept will be focusing on giving “Specialization Point” to each classes, causing classes to be more stronger in that particular state. For example, a 3rd class from Swordsman line might have Specialization Point in STR and VIT, making them more effective with those stats than any other classes.
Also, when you change into 3rd class, all skills will have its own unique casting animation. In addition, there will be equipment / skill proficiency rating. Because players will be able to go beyond LV 99, the stat calculation are being changed, most likely.
